MuxIP hires former Viacom exec David Flack
Ad-supported streaming technology provider MuxIP has hired former EVP of Viacom Media/MTV Networks International David Flack as managing director for European operations.
Based in London, Flack will help develop engagements with producers and broadcasters across Europe and the UK for FASTHub, MuxIP’s cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) solution that rapidly encodes, packages, and distributes channels – including broadcast, satellite, and digital – to any OTT platform, TV device, or application.
At Viacom Media/MTV Networks International now known as Paramount, Flack was based in Europe and Asia where he headed creative and content.
Previously to joining MuxIP, he was head of UK business for Alchimie, the publicly-traded OTT VOD channel aggregator.
FASTHub is MuxIP’s cloud-based software as a service offering that encodes, packages, and distributes channels – including broadcast, satellite, and digital – to OTT platforms, TV devices, or applications. FASTHub converts broadcast streams to digital to enable the creation of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels at lower costs than alternative solutions, according to the company.
“We are moving from peak TV to a new realm of FAST channel entertainment, which will be well served by FASTHub, which is a game-changer for the industry,” said Flack. “I see tremendous opportunity for MuxIP in Europe and in the UK, as producers and distributors continue to embrace FAST channels for niche audiences and major brands alike.”
“Our global expansion continues to attract some of the leading players in the broadcast and cable industries, who have enormous experience in launching new properties, and David Flack will help accelerate the adoption of FASTHub in the vibrant UK market,” added Tom Link, founder and CEO of MuxIP. “We see a tipping point with the FAST industry in 2023, and David’s experience will enable FASTHub to initiate the shift toward rapid FAST channel deployments.”
