Nielsen: Poland’s TV viewership falls by 2.7% in March
Nielsen’s monthly total TV and streaming snapshot The Gauge reported TV viewership in March was down by 2.7% from February in Poland.
According to the research outfit, the majority of the decline in viewing stems from traditional television, although streaming usage also fell slightly.
The report revealed in March the share of streaming in total viewership on TV was 6.5% in Poland.
Netflix continues to lead streaming usage among the streamers accounting for a 1.8% share, followed by YouTube which recorded a 1.7% share whose share has steadily grown since December.
While the other streaming category which represents providers that have not yet obtained a 1% share of TV usage, including HBO Max, Disney+, Viaplay, and SkyShowtime accounted for a 3% share of the total streaming viewership.
The Gauge previously reported In Poland streaming figures had risen reaching a record 6.4% of total TV time in February. Netflix and YouTube were the most popular streaming platforms among Polish audiences, with both services accounting for more than 50% of all streaming viewership on the TV in the Eastern European region.
Overall, cable, terrestrial and satellite viewing were still the most popular type of television consumption among Poles despite facing a global decline. Cable accounted for 30.1% of total viewership on TV, with terrestrial and satellite generating a share of 23.5% and 34.3% respectively.
