Vodafone Turkey names Yago Lopez executive vice president
Vodafone Turkey has made changes to its senior management team following the appointment of Yago Lopez as executive vice president of the network.
Lopez has more than 15 years of international experience in the telecommunications industry. He most recently served as general manager of Technology, Strategy and Innovation at TPG Telecom following the merger with Vodafone Hutchison Australia. He played an active role in infrastructure and technological services initiatives such as network sharing, spectrum transactions and 5G utilisation.
In his new position, Lopez will be responsible for the development of Vodafone Turkey’s network and IT infrastructure in order to provide the technologies and services of the future.
The exec joined Vodafone España in 2008, and later moved to Vodafone’s German hub in Düsseldorf in 2010. In Germany, Lopez oversaw the network performances of Vodafone countries and partner markets.
Lopez also successfully led the 4G transition at Vodafone Ireland in 2012 before joining Vodafone Hutchison Australia a year later. In Australia, he served as the general manager of wireless communication networks at TPG with the merger of Vodafone Australia and TPG Telecom.
During his tenure, he spearheaded efforts to roll out 5G and ensure that 85% of the population in Australia’s major cities use 5G.
Vodafone España recently named Laura Galián the new territorial director for the Valencian Community, Murcia and the Balearic Islands and appointed former CEO of Vodafone’s Portuguese operation Mário Vaz chief executive of the Spanish hub.
