Asia Pacific pay TV revenues fall by $1.6 billion by 2028
Asia Pacific pay TV revenues are expected to decline by $1.6 billion by 2028, according to Digital TV Research.
The media research firm has forecasted PayTV revenues across the Asia Pacific will fall from 27.6 billion from 2022 to $26 billion by 2028.
Pay TV revenues is predicted to fall in 10 countries, including Japan down by $889 million and China down by $309 million between 2022 and 2028.
Meanwhile, India will add $153 million of Pay TV revenues to the Asian market. The research outfit further reported that Digital cable will lose $1.15 billion between 2022 and 2028, with analog cable down by $382 million. Satellite TV will also fall by $494 million.
The report follows, Digital TV Research’s findings that Western European pay-TV revenues is expected to decline by nearly $5 billion between 2022 and 2028.
Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research, said: “IPTV revenues will overtake digital cable in 2023. IPTV revenues will climb by $481 million between 2022 to 2028 to $11.26 billion.”
