Moonbug Kids channel launches in Czech Republic with O2
Candle Entertainment-owned Moonbug Entertainment has teamed up with telco O2 to launch Moonbug Kids Channel in the Czech Republic, as reported by DTVE in February.
The new Moonbug Kids channel will include content from across the Moonbug portfolio of kids properties
The Moonbug Kids channel will be available to all subscribers across the Czech Republic in O2’s Silver and Gold tariffs, and will air in the English language.
All Moonbug properties will be featured on the channel including CoComelon, Blippi, Gecko’s Garage, Morphle, Arpo, Little Baby Bum and recent acquisitions Little Angel and Oddbods. The channel went live yesterday.
The launch in the Czech Republic is the latest foray into linear pay TV by Moonbug following an initial rollout with MultiChoice in South Africa last year, as exclusively reported by DTVE.
“Our ongoing rollout of our Moonbug Kids channels across EMEA has proved extremely successful and we are excited to add Czech Republic to our line-up of territories. This constitutes our first linear channel launch in the CEE region, which we plan to expand with new partnerships within this year. We are looking forward to working alongside O2 to share our much-loved characters and content with their viewers, and the future opportunities this may bring,” said Dilek Doyran, head of channel partnership, EMEA, Moonbug Entertainment.
“O2 Czech Republic is pleased to add the Moonbug Kids channel to the portfolio of the two highest tariffs and thus enrich the offer of children’s content for the little ones. We believe that this new content will be loved by pre-schoolers for its entertaining and engaging nature, as well as by parents because it teaches compassion, empathy and resilience to kids,” said Anna Lenerova, head of content O2 TV.
