Quintus Studios expands AVOD channel portfolio
Berlin-based channel operator and content distributor Quintus Studios has launched a new AVOD channel called Free Documentary – Engineering. The new service joins a portfolio of free factual channels that are distributed via digital platforms.
Commenting on the launch, Lena Muller, head of acquisitions at Quintus Studios, said: “With Free Documentary – Engineering we’re expanding our channel offer by establishing a strong engineering proposition featuring compelling genre content. We’ll establish the channel with our YouTube audience, but as with most of our channels there is great potential to grow onto our other social and FAST platforms.”
At launch, the channel will feature content from Quintus’ catalogue and an additional 50 hours of TV from Red Arrow Studios International, Autentic Distribution and Maximus Film. RASI titles include How Factories Changed The World while Maximus has provided Mega Manufacturing and Mega Transports among others.
Quintus’ channel portfolio is led by its flagship channel, Free Documentary. Other services include FD Real, FD Crime, FD History, FD Nature and ENDEVR. Quintus also owns and operates the FAST channel ‘Radical Docs’ available on streaming platforms including Rakuten TV and Samsung TV Plus.
Part of a growing trend that has seen international content distributors seeking to build direct-to-consumer offerings, Quintus says its combined channel offering attracts almost 8 million (non-paying) subscribers on social platform YouTube.
