Pro7Sat1 extends partnership with German touring car series DTM
German media group ProSiebenSat1 has secure domestic broadcast rights to the popular touring car series DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters). Described as a long-term partnership, the renewal deal gives Pro7Sat1 rights across both linear channels and digital platforms. The deal was agreed by Pro7Sat1’s sport business division Seven. One Sports and rights holder ADAC (the German Automobile Club).
The exclusive partnership will see all DTM races shown live and in full on Pro7Sat1’s free-to-air TV channels. This covers eight race meetings from May to October, held in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. The core coverage will be complemented by additional output on digital platforms Joyn and ran. While Joyn is a general entertainment streaming service, ran is a dedicated sports platform. The latter will show qualifying sessions and have an on the ground team covering trackside stories
Commenting, ran head of sports Alexander Rösner said: “Our partnership with the DTM continues seamlessly. Over the last two years, the series has developed significantly and shown great courage to implement changes. Not only is it synonymous with motorsport of the highest standard, but it also combines tradition with innovation. With our ran racing team, we will tell its stories on and off the track.”
ADAC Sport president Dr. Gerd Ennser added: “In recent years, ProSieben has developed a high degree of motorsport expertise and has established a large share of the market in the young target group, which is important to the DTM. The DTM is the flagship of German motorsport and, in ProSieben, we have the perfect TV partner for this series. We are looking forward to working with ProSieben over the coming years.”
