Amazon Prime Video restructures management to simplify decision-making
Amazon Prime Video is reorganising its international business in a bid to spur international growth while also maintaining a strong presence in local markets.
Orchestrated by Amazon Prime Video’s US-based VP Kelly Day, the reshuffle sees Barry Furlong, VP of Prime Video Europe, add the Middle East and Africa to his existing remit. At the same time Gaurav Gandhi will become the lead executive across Asia-Pacific, building on his existing oversight of the Indian market. Supporting Gandhi, Sushant Sreeram becomes Prime Video country director in India.
Rounding out the new-look management, Kari Roe remains in charge of the Americas, Australia and New Zealand. Director of international expansion Josh McIvor will oversee “priority international Prime Video initiatives that sit outside a regional remit.”
The changes were relayed to staff in a memo from Day, who joined the company in 2021. She said the new structure is “designed to enable us to reach our ambitious goals for global growth while remaining the most local of the global streaming services. Our plans are designed to create global consistency in our ways of working, simplify decision-making across our priority countries and regions, and allow us to quickly scale Prime Video globally while retaining our focus on delivering for local customers.”
