Britbox International adds former Starz and AMC execs to leadership team
Streaming platform Britbox International has unveiled two senior executive appointments. Liz Spaulding has been named as VP for business development while Jennifer Moon joins as head of editorial and programming strategy. The two arrivals were announced just a few days after news broke that Diederick Santer had stepped down from his role as chief creative officer at the ITV/BBC joint venture.
According to Britbox International, Spaulding, who joins from Starz, will lead growth opportunities and partnership relations while Moon, who comes in from AMC, will take the lead on North American programming strategy, acquisition and scheduling.
Commenting on the appointments, EVP North America and GM of group marketing services Robert Schildhouse said: “Both Liz and Jennifer have a deep understanding of the rapidly changing streaming landscape and excellent skillsets that will help BritBox continue to evolve and be the destination that premium British content fans flock to most. We are looking forward to having both as part of our team.”
Spaulding said: “BritBox has been a leading service in cultivating a loyal and engaged fanbase. I’m thrilled to collaborate with the team as they grow their platform.”
Moon added: “With its uniquely British voice, BritBox has accomplished that rare goal of building a portfolio that never disappoints and lives up to subscriber expectations.”
Britbox International launched in 2017 and had around 2.6 million subs in mid-2022. The company tripled its content spend in 2022 and has an ambitious international rollout plan. Its most recent new market was the Nordics, where it launched in April 2022. Other live markets include the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
