Argentina’s Antina TV taps Ateme for DTT pay TV
Argentinian digital-terrestrial pay TV provider Antina TV has tapped technology outfit Ateme to provide its Titan encoders to deliver its 37 HD channel offering.
The Ateme Titan encoders replace Antina’s legacy encoding technology and will support UHD, 4K, and HDR content.
Ateme said that through a flexible licensing model, its technology is implemented across multiple sites, with programming delivered to customers via microwave links using the DVB-T2 standard.
Ateme said that the implementation of Titan will also provide Antina with a future-proof solution, updated as new codecs are released.
Antina TV, which delivers services over UHF, is the leader in market share in a number of locations in the metropolitan region of Buenos Aires. Its parent company Telcom Ventures is involved in a number of activities in the wireless telecommunications industry both in the US and around the world.
“We have been extremely impressed with the performance and quality that comes with Ateme’s solution. Ateme was chosen following a Proof-of-Concept process, where it delivered significant quality and administration advantages over products from alternative manufacturers,” said Alejandro Checchin, head of engineering at Antina.
“Antina is a popular and growing digital pay TV provider in one of the continent’s biggest metropolitan areas. They operate in a highly competitive market where the quality of their services plays a key role in their success. We are delighted to be working with the team at Antina to support their technology infrastructure strategy and put them in a strong position for future success,” said Juan Manuel Altamirano, sales director – Latam South at Ateme
