Samsung and Roku customers get free Apple TV+
Apple has cut deals with Samsung and Roku to give its device owners three months of free access to Apple TV+.
The streamer has had a breakout year thanks to the mainstream success of the Ben Stiller-directed psychological drama Severance while Apple TV+ became the first streaming service to claim the Best Picture Academy Award for CODA. The streamer has also branched out into sports this year, acquiring rights to the MLB’s Friday Night Baseball and signing a 10-year rights deal with the MLS.
Looking to build out its subscriber base, Apple will provide Samsung and Roku TV customers with complimentary access to the service for three months.
Eligible customers with 2018-2022 Samsung smart TV models can redeem the offer between now and November 28 by opening the Apple TV app on their TV and following the onscreen instructions.
Roku customers can follow a similar process on their streaming stick or smart TV.
Apple TV+ is currently available in over 100 countries and regions and on 1 billion screens. To date, its content has received 250 award wins and 1,115 nominations.
