beIN bolsters TOD with Turkish Süper Lig rights
beIN Sports-owned streaming service TOD has agreed a deal to be the exclusive rights holder for the Turkish Süper Lig in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The league agreed a renewed domestic rights deal with beIN earlier in the summer following a dramatic bidding process.
beIN launched the MENA streamer TOD earlier this year with more than 10,000 hours of content, including access to all 24 beIN Sports channels. It is available in Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, KSA, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Sudan, South Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Chad, Mauritania, and Libya.
The Turkish league joins a rights portfolio which includes the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, UEFA club competitions including the Champions League, the English Premier League, LaLiga, Ligue 1, the NBA and Grand Slam tennis.
John Paul Mckerlie, vice president of sales and marketing at TOD, said: “The Turkish Super Lig is one of the most celebrated leagues in the region, and broadcasting it live and exclusively through TOD will ensure our subscribers access to this premium sports series – anytime, anywhere.”
