Video tech outfit Blackbird hires ex-YouView exec as engineering chief

Cloud video editing platform provider Blackbird has named Morgan Henry as VP of engineering.

Henry, who started his career writing operating systems for smartphones, has previously run strategic innovation programmes at UK IPTV provider YouView. More recently, he has worked for a number of organizations supporting digital content creators and the creator-to-consumer economy.

At YouView, Henry served as head of emerging technologies in charge of new initatives, having previously worked as group manager for third-party platforms and head of mobile.

Henry said: “Organizations are demanding ever more efficient video production and Blackbird’s deeply impressive tech stack delivers this. I’m delighted to join the company and work alongside such a great team as it seeks to further strengthen and expand its product suite.”
