Sky extends Axinom tech partnership
Sky UK has announced an expanded technical partnership with modular streaming solutions provider Axinom.
The partnership, which started in 2007, sees Axinom provide development and maintenance support for streaming services including WOW, Now and Sky Go. It has since expanded into technical cooperation with an aim to develop and enhance the capabilities of Sky’s streaming initiatives
Ben Lavender, group director, Product Management at Sky, said: “Axinom provides a seamless extension to our cross-platform engineering team, as we look to step-change the customer experience of our OTT services in Europe. High calibre software engineers with domain experience in cross-platform OTT services are a scarce commodity, and Axinom has a strong team that provides our business-critical support.”
Ralph Wagner, CEO at Axinom, said: “Our partnership with Sky goes back to the early days of streaming, and we’re very proud to be still working together in the modern era of OTT. We are pairing our experience and advanced know-how with our expertise in state-of-the-art technologies such as GraphQL, React, and Node.js to support Sky with the emerging business requirements and technical challenges.”
