A+E Networks hires Sony exec to oversee EMEA sales
A+E Networks has appointed Dr Kerstin Gühne as VP of global content sales for EMEA.
Reporting to Patrick Vien, group MD of global content sales, London-based Gühne will oversee distribution of A+E’s content library across all platforms including linear, AVOD, and SVOD throughout German-speaking Europe and Turkey.
Gühne joins A+E Networks following a 15-year tenure at Sony Pictures Television, where she served as MD, then SVP, of sales and distribution. During her time at Sony, she oversaw distribution of all Sony Pictures Entertainment content, including feature films and television products, across linear and digital content platforms in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
She began her career at Bertelsmann AG in the publishing division, then moved to the RTL Group as head of program acquisition for Super RTL. From 1999 to 2001, she built up the TV3 (SBS) station in Zurich as chief buyer, where she was responsible for all program purchasing and editing.
Before joining Sony, Gühne also served as VP of international distribution at DIC Entertainment, where she was responsible for the German-speaking regions, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe.
“I look forward to representing A+E’s best-in-class library of content to our partners, and to introducing so many new viewers to the premium factual series, mega-franchises, scripted co-productions, TV movies, formats and more that make A+E one of the top creators of IP in the business,” said Gühne.
