New management line-up for Iliad Telecom-owned UPC Poland
Polish cable operator UPC Polska has a new management team following the completion of its acquisition by Iliad Telecom-owned Play from Liberty Global.
Led by Jean-Marc Harion as president, the new management board includes Beata Zborowska as financial director and Michał Ziółkowski as technical director.
Other members include: Mikkel Noesgaard, marketing director; Piotr Kuriata, director for legal affairs and regulations; Jarosław Helman, B2B director and Marta Jakowluk, HR director.
The acquisition of Liberty Global’s Polish operation positions Play as a major service provider and number two in the Polish market, while parent company Xavier Niel’s Iliad Telecom has furthered its ambition to become a major international operator, with a strong and growing presence in France, Italy and now Poland.
UPC Polska has about 1.6 million fixed subscribers out of a coverage of around 3.7 million homes passed.
Play, a late entrant in the Polish mobile market, has around 15 million customers, or a 29% share of the market. The company posted revenues of €1.6 billion last year, and EBITDAaL of €523 million.
Combined with UPC Polska, the revenue total rises to €1.96 billion and EBITDAaL rises to €697 million.
