Augustus Media’ Smashi to join Zee’s Weyyak offering
Middle Eastern outfit Augustus Media and Zee Entertainment have teamed up to forge a streaming partnership that will see Zee’s Weyyak Platform integrate Augustus Media’s business tech streaming service, Smashi.
Smashi is an Arabic live streaming service covering innovative products, services, and technologies.
Weyyak is a freemium VOD platform from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited targeting the Arabic audience globally. Weyyak offers a library of entertainment content including Arabic, Turkish, and exclusive Indian shows, ranging from original shows to cooking shows to talk shows and more.
Weyyak will stream Smashi’s content via all of its licensed digital platforms including its website, tablets, connected TV, and mobile application available on Google Play and App Store.
Both Augustus Media & Weyyak hope to provide mutual benefits enhancing each entity’s position as the leading modern media and on-demand content.
“Our priority is to offer our audiences a variety of content that we select carefully in order to keep them entertained anytime, anywhere. Through our collaboration with Smashi.tv, Weyyak’s audience will also have the privilege of browsing news content across all devices to remain up to date,” said Nadine Samra, chief business officer, Weyyak.
“We have been impressed with what Zee has accomplished with Weyyak over the last few years as the streaming ecosystem develops. It is important to find the right strategic partnerships and we believe we have it in this case. The business & tech content Smashi focuses on is niche and working with exciting platforms like Weyyak is a great way for us to provide original content to an existing audience,” said Richard Fitzgerald, CEO and founder, Augustus Media.
