Movistar+ renews Netflix agreement for five years
Telefónica-owned pay TV operator Movistar+ has renewed its carriage agreement with Netflix for a further five years.
The deal, which follows one originally signed in 2018, will see the pair extend their partnership until 2026, enabling Movistar Fusión customers to sign up for and view Netflix.
Shows airing on Netflix in Spain over the coming year include Feria: La luz más oscura and the second season of Bridgerton along with movies such as A través de mi Ventana and Amor de Madre.
The pair have cemented their relationship with the launch of a joint marketing campaign, the most recent of a number of joint campaigns carried out over the last few years.
The pay TV operator celebrated the finale of the last season of hit series La Casa de Papel with an exclusive channel and a live experience at its flagship store at Gran Vía 28 in Madrid, and Movistar+ and Netflix have also collaborated on campaigns centred around series such as Las chicas del cable and Spanish movie Klaus.
