The Roku Channel expands to over 200 channels
Roku has added 17 new channels to its Roku Channel ad-supported streaming service.
The addition of 16 channels on August 18 and one further addition on August 19 will bring the total number of channels available via the FAST platform to more than 200.
The new linear channels include: AccuWeather Now; Baywatch; CBC News; El Rey; Estrella Games; FilmRise Horror; FilmRise Kids; FilmRise True Crime; IGN; Mega Noticias; RCN Más; Real Madrid TV; So…Real; The Only Way Is Essex; Tribeca Channel; The Wiggles powered by Loop Media, Inc. (available August 19), and; Vivaldi.

In its most recent quarter, the streaming device-maker and platform operator saw its active user base rise to 55.1 million in Q2, up 28% in a year. However, platform revenue grew by 117% to US$532.3 million, which added to player revenue took its total to US$645.1 million, up 81%.
