Sky Deutschland integrates DAZN with Sky Q, adds linear channels
Sky Deutschland subscribers with a Sky Q box can will be able to sign up for sports streaming service DAZN via their set-top box, along with gaining access to DAZN’s two linear HD channels, following an expanded deal between the pair.
Sky Q customers will benefit from single billing for DAZN along with their Sky subscription.
DAZN will offer an expanded line-up of content in Germany in the coming months, with Friday and Sunday afternoon Bundesliga football matches, the bulk of the UEFA Champions League tournament, Spain’s La Liga, US sports and tennis.
The two DAZN linear channels – DAZN1 and DAZN2 – will be available on Sky+ and Sky Q Mini boxes as well as the flagship Sky Q device. The linear channels will be available to all subscribers who have signed up for DAZN via Sky. According to the pay TV operator, these are mainly aimed at subscribers without a Sky Q box or those with limited internet access who would better be positioned to view DAZN’s content via broadcast.
Charly Classen, EVP of sport at Sky Deutschland said: “Thanks to the expanded cooperation with DAZN, our customers will only need one remote control in future to see the best football in one place. The integration on Sky Q and billing via Sky will make it even more convenient for customers to enjoy their Sky programmes and DAZN content at the push of a button.”
Thomas de Buhr, EVP DACH at DAZN said: “With the integration of the DAZN app and the two linear DAZN channels on Sky, we are once again remaining true to our goal of giving every fan access to their favourite sport on DAZN – at any time anywhere.”
