Sky launches B2B broadband brand Sky Connect
Sky has announced its entry into the UK B2B telecoms market with its Sky Connect brand.
The Comcast-owned operator said that the unit will focus on partnering with small businesses and providing them with a better broadband experience. Key features of Sky Connect include automatic 4G backup (dubbed Connection Pro), digital voice service VoiceEdge and built-in malware and phishing protection.
Sky Connect launches with three price points ranging from £39-95 per month, with add-ons including static IP addresses and an international pack for fixed and mobile calls to and in other countries.
As a part of Sky Connect’s launch, Sky will create over 1,000 new jobs in the UK including 750 B2B specialist roles. Sky said that these hires will align with its representation targets, with 20% of employees being from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background by 2025, with at least a quarter of these to be Black.
Stephen van Rooyen, EVP & CEO, UK & Europe, Sky, said: “Covid-19 has had a huge impact on small British businesses, with many moving online to survive. We’re launching Sky Connect now, and plan to create up to a thousand new jobs across the UK, because we know British businesses will come out fighting and we want to be there to help.
“Small businesses are the growth engine of our economy and we believe they deserve better – better products and technology; clearer contracts, and exceptional customer service.”
