Movistar+ adds ATRESplayer Premium to offering

Telefónica-owned pay TV platform Movistar+ has added commercial broadcaster Atresmedia’s premium online player ATRESplayer Premium to its offering. The move follows the recent addition of Mediaset España’s online streaming service Mitele Plus to the platform.

Like Mitele Plus, ATRESplayer Premium will be available to Movistar+ subscribers with a UHD set-top box and can be signed up to from the ‘other subscriptions’ section of users’ Movistar+ accounts.

The basic ATRESplayer catch-up service has been available to Movistar+ customers with UHD set-top boxes since November. The addition of the premium version brings not only on-demand content from Atresmedia’s channels, which include Antena 3, LaSexta, Neox, Nova, Mega, Atreseries and Flooxer, but also the option of viewing certain content before it is transmitted on over-the-air TV, as well as exclusive access to originals.

Movistar+ subscribers with ATRESplayer Premium will be able to view content including El Nudo, Gente Hablando, By Ana Milán, Fisica o Químca: el reencuentro and Drag Race España, along with forthcoming exclusive series Alba. Originals available on ATRESplayer Premium include Veneno.

In addition to being available via the Movistar+ UHD set-top, the service will also be available to Movistar+ customers via computers, tablets and iOS and Android smartphones as well as Samsung and LG smart TVs and Android TVs. It can also be accessed via streaming devices including Google Chromecast, Apple TV and Amazon Fire Stick.
