Dotscreen renews freenet TV HbbTV portal contract

Multi-screen video applications & UI specialist Dotscreen has renewed its multi-year contract with Media Broadcast, the platform operator of freenet TV in Germany.

Freenet TV, which is predominantly known for its pay TV service broadcast via DVB-T2 HD and via DVB-S2, launched its HbbTV freenet TV portal in 2016 with the Parisian Dotscreen as a key partner.

At launch, Dotscreen designed and developed the front-end and associated backend of the portal, and spent the past four years maintaining and enhancing the HbbTV solution.

Dotscreen is one of the most experienced developers of HbbTV applications. The company’s clients include Fransat in France and Freesat in the UK, ARTE and France24 in Europe, Mediaset in Spain, TF1 in France, SVT in Sweden, and ERT in Greece.
