TVPlayer ties up deal for eight ViacomCBS channels
UK-based independent OTT provider TVPlayer will boost its offering thanks to a new carriage agreement with ViacomCBS Networks UK (VCN UK).
The deal will see the addition of eight new channels to the platform. Five free new channels will be added – Channel 5, 5USA, 5Star, 5Select and Paramount Network – while there will also be the addition of premium channels MTV, Comedy Central and Comedy Xtra.
Users will be able to watch live and view VCN UK content on catch up, as a part of the 50 total channels offered by the £6.99 per month streamer.
Other channels offered by the streamer include Sky History, HGTV and the full range of BBC networks
Barry Llewellyn, managing director at TVPlayer, said “We’re delighted to be able to offer our viewers some of ViacomCBS’s most popular channels as part of TVPlayer’s overall bouquet. We’ve listened to our viewers and we’re pleased to be in a position to offer them the programmes they want, when they want them, at an appropriate price point.”
Arran Tindall, chief commercial officer, EVP, commercial and content distribution at ViacomCBS Networks International said: “We’re always looking to support new distribution partners and to reach and engage new audiences. TVPlayer is an established OTT platform in the UK and we’re delighted to be providing our most recognisable brands and channels for their customers to enjoy.”
