SPI/FilmBox’s Filmstream to launch in Samsung TV Plus in UK

Channel provider SPI/FilmBox’s new ad-based digital channel Filmstream has launched on Samsung Electronics’ video service, Samsung TV Plus in the UK.

Filmstream is the latest addition to SPI’s streaming offering and currently features a selection of independent and world cinema movies.

Launched on May 7, Filmstream will now be available via a service that comes automatically installed on all 2016-2020 Samsung Smart TVs and offers over 50 channels to users across news, sports, entertainment, and other genres.
The current catalogue includes movies from directors such as Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Fellini and others. The channel plans to expand its line-up with major Hollywood movies and popular hits in the future.

SPI/FilmBox and Samsung Electronics had previously partnered to bring linear channels and VOD content from major distributors to Samsung Smart TVs via SPI’s content service, FilmBox Live.
