Sky Deutschland updating Sky Q service
Sky Deutschland’s Sky Q users are to see their service updated with a revamped user interface and more recording space.
The new update, which will be rolled out to all Sky Q receivers in the country between now and mid-August, will see the user interface improved. According to Sky, customers will be able to find content more quickly, with one click to find favourite content in one place, including series episodes on-demand, recording, programme descriptions and lists of similar programmes.
Sky is also profiling additional recording space, with capacity on the Sky Q box now able to store over 800 hours of content.
Max Konstantin Ehrhardt, director of product management at Sky Deutschland, said: “As promised, we are continuously developing Sky Q based on our customer feedback so that customers can continue to use it easily and, despite the rapidly growing variety of free TV, apps, media libraries and Sky Premium content find your favourite programs as quickly as possible. The focus is on ease of use, clarity and intuitive shortcuts. ”
The German Sky Q updates comes as Sky announced a similar update for UK customers including the expanded UI which does away with Sky Q’s static menu bar and the addition of show centres for TV series.
Disney+ will be viewable in HDR for the first time on Sky Q, and the company said that it will add HDR to its Sky Nature, Sky Cinema and Sky originals programming by Christmas. It also said that it would add HDR to live sport in 2021.
