Twitch signs trio to exclusive streaming deals

chTwitch has announced multi-year exclusive streaming deals with three top personalities: Jaryd “Summit1G” Lazar, Brett “Dakotaz” Hoffman (4.4 million), and Josh “JoshOG” Beaver (1.7 million).

Summit1G is the largest of the signees with 5.3 million followers on the platform, while Dakotaz has 4.4 million and JoshOG has 1.7 million.

Michael Aragon, Twitch’s SVP of content, said: “Summit1G, Dakotaz, and JoshOG have each made it a priority to cultivate genuine connections among their fans while demonstrating their ongoing support for the community at large through participation in broader Twitch events. At a time when community is paramount, these creators are a core part of Twitch’s mission to bring people together, and we’re excited to continue our partnership.”

All three are represented by management company Loaded, whose cofounder and SVP of talent Brandon Freytag said: “Over the last decade, these streamers garnered loyal fan bases and built successful brands on Twitch. We are very happy that they have the opportunity to continue doing what they love while providing their fans with the livestreaming content they want to watch.”

The trio of personalities are the latest to be signed to exclusive deals by Twitch, and comes amid a wave of agreements sparked by the defection of top personality Ninja to Microsoft’s Mixer. Since then a number of top streamers have been signed up to lucrative livestreaming deals by Amazon’s Twitch, Mixer, Facebook and YouTube. Most recently, the latter announced a high-profile exclusive streaming deal with celebrated and controversial internet personality Felix Kjellberg, better known by his online moniker PewDiePie.
