Nova extends Discovery deal, adds Food Network
Greek telco Discovery has renewed its exclusive satellite distribution agreement with Discovery, extending the relationship between the companies to over 20 years.
The announcement will see Nova subscribers continue to have access to channels from Discovery’s portfolio of channels including Eurosport – the local broadcaster of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games – Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Showcase HD and Travel Channel.
The extended relationship will also see Discovery launch Food Network on Nova, channel 116. The well-known channel offers programming based around cooking and food discovery.
Alongside this, the extended agreement includes enhanced on demand rights and also refers to the portfolio of channels being available through the innovative Nova Go service.
Overall, Discovery network channel programs are broadcasted in more than 220 countries while being enjoyed by more than three billion viewers.
Nova is the only pay TV platform in Greece where Discovery network channels are transmitted via satellite.
