Pluto TV launches Ramsay pop-up

The latest pop-up from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay isn’t a restaurant, but a channel on ViacomCBS AVOD Pluto TV. 

Going live on April 1, the 24-hour channel will show episodes from over 16 seasons of hit series Hell’s Kitchen. The show sees aspiring chefs compete to become a head chef at one of Ramsay’s restaurants.

Later in April, Pluto TV will also launch a programming schedule to coincide with Earth Day across its channels Pluto TV Animals, Pluto TV Science and Pluto TV Voyager.

On the week of April 20, these channels will showcase documentaries focused on nature. The featured shows on Pluto TV Animals include a series of shark related documentaries such as Sharks: Scavengers of the Sea and Shark Man with Riley Elliot. Gordon Ramsay will also feature, making an appearance in Gordon Ramsay: Shark Bait.

This is the latest launch from Pluto, which has made a habit of releasing a number of themed pop-ups. These have included seasonal pop-ups and geo-specific channels.

ViacomCBS will hope that Pluto TV can continue to grow while it is undergoing financial hardship amid the coronavirus pandemic. The company has even gone as far as to withdraw its financial guidance for 2020.
