Sky Deutschland to add Nick Jr and Nicktoons as ViacomCBS extends deal to Germany
ViacomCBS Networks International has struck a multi-year distribution deal with Sky covering German-speaking markets that will bring Nick Jr. and NickToons content to Sky customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, giving them access to kids’ shows such as PAW Patrol and SpongeBob SquarePants.
Nick Jr and Nicktoons linear channels will be added to Sky’s portfolio alongside video-on-demand content including over 900 episodes from the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. library.
The pair said that the agreement further broadens and strengthens the long-standing relationship between ViacomCBS and Sky across Europe, with Sky already distributing ViacomCBS’ TV networks and content and selling advertising across its portfolio of channels in the UK and Italy.
Raffaele Annecchino, president, ViacomCBS Networks EMEA and Asia, said: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Sky and offer Nick Jr. and NickToons fans in the GSA region their favorite shows on Sky platforms. With robust collaborations already in place in the UK and Italy, we truly value our partnership with Sky and are excited to be able to deliver premium kids’ content, both linear and on-demand, to more families in these regions.”
Manuel Kindervater, VP of partner channels/strategy at Sky Deutschland, said: “With the brands of Nickelodeon, we perfectly expand the strong Sky family portfolio. We are pleased that families will be able to enjoy the diverse program of Nick Jr. and NickToons with Sky and Sky Ticket from April; anytime linear or on-demand”.
