Haystack TV to be prominently placed in Vidaa OS through Hisense distribution deal
International news aggregator service Haystack TV has announced a distribution agreement with TV maker Hisense.
Hisense, currently the third-largest television manufacturer in the world, will pre-install and prominently place the Haystack App within the new Vidaa Smart TV platform. The platform’s redesign was recently unveiled at CES 2020 in Las Vegas.
This deal will see Haystack TV available on Vidaa along with Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Roku devices, LG smart TVs, Samsung TV Plus, Vizio Smart TVs and Android and iOS mobile devices. The platform is also available to view online.
Haystack provides free OTT news streaming with local news for 85% of the metropolitan areas in the US. It also offers access to coverage from more than 250 providers including ABC News, the Associated Press, Bloomberg, CBS News, Cheddar, Euronews and Newsy.
Guy Edri, EVP of business development for Hisense’s Vidaa platform, said: “Vidaa aggregates content from the best global and local partners for Vidaa users. Bringing the best free content to our customers locally in every market and globally is Vidaa’s global strategy. We are pleased to bring Haystack’s carefully curated and customized blend of local, national and international news to our platform.”
Haystack TV CEO and co-founder Daniel Barreto said: “Haystack is very pleased to bring our one-of-a-kind news experience to the Vidaa platform. “Haystack TV’s partnership with Hisense – and its impressive lineup of 2020 TVs – will help fuel our rapid growth for 2020 and beyond.”
