Simply.TV debuts new metadata stack, signs up Iceland’s Siminn
Denmark-based Simply.TV, a new metadata startup whose founders sold their previous business, EPG Systems, to Gracenote in 2013, has unveiled a technology stack that it says improves content discovery via data ingest, data editing, and in-particular, data delivery.
Simply.TV said that Siminn, Iceland’s largest TV operator has adopted its new stack.
Bjarki Jonsson, head of TV at Siminn, said: “Simply.TV rebuilt the data ingest format within less than a day and the end-to-end migration was completed within few days. Immediate benefits were more comprehensive data, as our airing time issues disappeared, content rights got properly handled, and we had full data insights. All in all resulting in a much better user experience. We favour working with flexible partners. Simply.TV embraces this”.
Simply.TV has meanwhile boosted its advisory board appointments of Georg Müller-Loeffelholz, Joachim Bergman, Will Kreth and Siminn’s Jónsson.
Müller-Loeffelholz is the former chief service portfolio officer, data services at Red Bee Media and now serves Cornelsen Group as managing director for its language business and CPO Digital.
Bergman, based in Helsinki, is CEO/COO at 24i and has previously held senior management positions at Amino Communications, Red Bee Media and Ericsson.
Kreth is the former executive director at Entertainment Identifier Registry (EIDR) and has held senior positions at. Showtime Networks, Charter Communications and Time Warner.
Simply.TV CCO and co-founder Daniel Rühmann said: “We are pleased and excited to welcome Georg, Joachim, Will and Bjarki to the Simply.TV team. With the combined experience and insights into the broadcast and metadata space, they bring in an extraordinary asset to us. It is a strong statement that they have chosen Simply.TV, cementing that our technology is a true game-changer and in particular our flexibility and speed around ingest and delivery of data are giving customers what they have required for many years”.
