Sky Deutschland grabs ATP Cup rights

Pay TV provider Sky Deutschland has acquired exclusive rights to the new ATP Cup tennis competition in Germany.

The competition will take place from January 3-12 in Australia. The deal marks the expansion of an existing partnership with ATP and ATP Media and includes exclusive live broadcasting rights in Germany, as well as rights for Austria and Switzerland.

The ATP Cup will be part of the Sky Sport package, sitting alongside other ATP Tour tournaments. 

All game sin solving German participation will be shown live with German commentary, and Sky will show selected games on free-to-air TV via its Sky Sport news HD channel, along with comprehensive highlights. 

“It is great news for our customers that we could secure the rights to another highlight of the tennis year during the Bundesliga-free period. By extending the partnership with the ATP and ATP Media, we can broadcast the highly attractive ATP Cup and once again be the home of the ATP Tour on German television,” said Hans Gabbe, SVP of sports rights and commercialisation at Sky Deutschland.
