Disney hires Wilson for streaming marketing
Disney Streaming Services, the sub brand of Disney that looks after its OTT products, has appointed Brad Wilson as VP of performance marketing for Disney+ and ESPN+.
Wilson joins from loan provider Lending Tree, where he spent two years as CMO and led brand strategy, consumer engagement and marketing operations. Prior to that, he acted as general manager for Travelocity, and had previously held roles at Nutrisystem, Blockbuster Online and Match.com.
At Disney Streaming Services, he will oversee performance marketing – an aspect of marketing that focuses on optimising online ad spending –for ESPN+ and the upcoming Disney+ – which launches on November 12. He will report to Disney Streaming Services president Michael Paull.
Paull said: “Brad is a talented and accomplished marketing executive who shares our vision for data-driven marketing that will accelerate customer growth, engagement, and retention for ESPN+ and the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.”
Wilson added: “The rapid growth of ESPN Plus has been impressive to watch as a fan, and much like the millions of eagerly awaiting consumers, I’ve been counting down the days to the launch of Disney Plus.”
