Nc+ changes name to Canal+ and launches series of promos
Polish pay TV operator nc+ has changed its name by adopting the Canal+ brand, with an advertising campaign launched yesterday to promote the shift.
The pay TV service is offering a number of promotions to encourage new subscribers to sign up. Those signing up for a 24-month contract will receive the service free of charge or pay a reduced tariff, depending on the package they choose.
Depending on the promotional offer selected customers will also be able to receive free access to the Canal+ 4K Ultra HD channel, 4K UltraBox+ set-top and the Polsat Sport premium channels.
Canal+ is also offering a special promotional package of 20 action films to be streamed direct to connected set-top boxes or made available on PCs’ tablets and smartphones via the nc+ Go app.
All customers, including those new to the platform, can benefit from a ‘try and buy’ offer that is active until September 14, enabling them to try the service out until the end of this month free of charge with the option to cancel their contract without paying any fees.
Nc+ was created in 2013 from the merger of Canal+-owned Cyfra+ and TVN-owned ‘n’. Canal+ has a 51% stake in the company, alongside TVN’s 32% holding and Liberty Global’s 17% stake.
Holding company ITI Neovision unveiled plans for the name change in July, citing the strength of the Canal+ brand, which was also used within the portfolio of services offered by nc+.
