SFR to be first French operator to integrate Amazon Prime Video
Altice Europe has signed up to a partnership deal with Amazon Prime Video to make the Amazon service available to its SFR customers in France. The agreement means that SFR will be the first Altice operator in Europe and the first operator in France to include the Prime Video app within its TV box.
Amazon Prime Video will be available via the LaBox SFR Fibre, SFR Box Plus and the new SFR Box 8 set-top boxes.
The launch means that SFR customers who subscriber will be able to watch Amazon Originals The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Good Omens, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Grand Tour, The Boys, The Man in the High Castle, American Godsand forthcomingCarnival Row.
SFR customers will also have access to local Originals like Jérôme Commandeur: Tout en douceur and Raphael Varane: Destin de Champion, and popular French and Hollywood movies.
The addition of Amazon Prime Video immediately follows the launch of Amazon Alexa on the new SFR Box 8 and the service will be fully integrated, according to Altice.
Following the launch on its set-top boxes, Altice plans to enable SFR customers to access the Prime Video application through SFR’s own applications and the service will be made accessible to SFR mobile customers soon.
Launches on Altice’s networks in Portugal, Israel and the Dominican Republic will follow soon, according to the company, although no exact data has been set.

Separately, French service provider Free has stopped broadcasting Altice France channels BFM TV, RMC Découverte and RMC Story via its IPTV service as a result of Free’s decision not to pay Altice for the channels.
Free viewers will be able to tune into the channels via the digital-terrestrial tuner in hybrid boxes. Free boss Xavier Niel said that the channels would also continue to be available via a pay TV option through a contract with Altice.
