Parrot Analytics: Stranger Things sweeps competition aside in Sweden
Netflix’s Stranger Things has continued to show its vice-like grip on the public consciousness, by once again topping Parrot Analytics’ originals in-demand chart for the week ending August 11 – this time in Sweden.
The show drew 2.3 million average demand expressions, over more than double that of Orange Is The New Black in second place (908,378,724).
Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.
Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale took third place (780,105,227), while Amazon’s The Boys – an anarchic take on the superhero genre – was the highest rated Prime Video original in fourth (529,721,962).
Surprisingly, Netflix titles make up less than half the list with only four titles in the chart. Amazon notched up three charting series, while Hulu, DC Universe and CBS All Access had one a piece.
Spanish-language La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) continued its impressive performance in sixth place (412,073,696), representing just how successful the show has been in non-Spanish speaking markets.
