New corporate affairs chief for MultiChoice Africa
South African pay TV operator MultiChoice has named Reatile Tekateka as executive head of corporate affairs for MultiChoice Africa Holdings, its pan-African arm.
Tekateka, who will report to MultiChoice Africa CEO Hennie Visser, was previously managing director of PR agency Joe Public United. She has also served as head of PR and communication at pan-African broadcaster Econet Media as well as occupying positions at Magna Carta and Liberty Group.
Visser said: “We are pleased with the appointment of Reatile who brings within the MultiChoice Africa an impressive professional footprint in Africa. Reatile will play a critical role in building and executing strategies that will assist MultiChoice Africa navigate diverse media, as well as specialised and diverse set of skills and experience to navigate highly complex and regulated industries across diverse geographies.”
In February, Naspers-backed MultiChoice listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. The listed company includes MultiChoice South Africa, MultiChoice Africa Holdings, SVOD outfit Showmax, digital platform security provider Irdeto, and all their subsidiaries and affiliates.
MultiChoice overall provides pay TV content to about 14 million homes in 50 African markets.
