Cyfrowy Polsat launches OTT TV service across Poland
Polish pay TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat has launched a new OTT TV offering that is available to all consumers irrespective of their network provider.
The new Evobox Stream offering enables users to choose from up to nine packages without any long-term commitment and the ability to cancel after 30 days.
Cyfrowy Polsat is supplying the Evobox Stream box either with a contract of prepaid. Customers who take up the offer will receive from the start over 100 channels, including HBO, Eleven Sports and Polsat Sport Premium for three months at no additional charge. Users can also connect the box to their DVB-T digital-terrestrial antenna to receive over-the-air TV channels.
Cyfrowy Polsat said that the offering wold be available across Poland with no restriction.
Maciej Stec, VP of strategy at Cyfrowy Polsat and Polkomtel, described the offering as “revolutionary”.
“If customers have the internet at home from any provider, they can now watch our television service – everything they want, with the pacakges they want and without a fixed subscription, and the decoder can connect either to cable or via WiFi,” he said.
Cyfrowy Polsat launched the Evobox device in the first quarter, alongside a new IPTV offering to complement its satellite service.
The group added 300,000 multiplay customers in Q1, taking its overall contract base to 14.33 million services. Its base of bundled customers was up 18% year-on-year to 1.85 million, or 33% of its overall contract
