DAZN signs MLS deal in six regions
Sports streaming service DAZN has announced the broadcast rights to Major League Soccer (MLS) in six international markets.
DAZN will have exclusive broadcast rights to the US soccer league in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Spain with immediate effect. This will see every MLS match broadcast on the platform exclusively in these regions. The company also has been awarded rights for the MLS in Brazil, though this is not exclusive.
Jacopo Tonoli, Chief Commercial Officer, DAZN, said: “MLS has a growing global audience and this agreement means we will continue to build that fandom around the world. Our multi-sport OTT proposition puts fans first, so for one affordable monthly fee, and no long-term contract, they can enjoy a huge variety of the best sport on any device, anywhere.”
This announcement follows the news that DAZN secured exclusive rights for this year’s Copa del Rey final featuring Barcelona versus Valencia for Germany Austria, Switzerland and Japan, with non-exclusive rights for Italy.
