Amos-17 gets set for lift-off

Israeli satellite operatorSpacecom’s latest satellite, Amos-17, is completing the final stages of its pre-launch preparation ahead of take-off later this summer for the 17°East orbital position.

Amos-17 has beendesigned to targetthe African market. The craft’s C-band,Ka-band and Ku-bandcapacity will enable ti to provide broad regional beams and high throughput spot beams across Africa.

Equipped with a digital payload from Boeing Satellite Systems International, the satellite has now completed its environmental testing simulating the launch and harsh space environment.

Amos-17 is currently undergoing final preparation operations ahead of shipment to Cape Canaveral, where it is scheduled to be launched on a Falcon-9 launch vehicle by SpaceX.
