ITV announces partnership with FITE TV starting with AEW Double or Nothing
Combat sports streaming platform FITE TV has signed a deal with ITV to stream the first ITV Box Office Pay-Per-View (PPV) event via FITE.
The first event to be broadcast under this agreement will be Double Or Nothing, the debut PPV event from new professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW), on Sunday, May 26 at 1:00am BST.
ITV Box Office launched in February 2017 and is available on Sky, with events available on demand only on Virgin Media and TVPlayer.
FITE TV is a digital streaming platform for combat sports featuring over 1,000 PPV events per year available a-la-carte, and is available through apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and in browser. The service has over 1.33 million registered users.
The event will be shown concurrently on both platforms.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with FITE to bring this epic event to even more wrestling fans across the UK and Ireland through such a reliable platform,” said Ben Halabi, head of ITV Box Office’s Business Development. “Fite is the digital destination for combat sports streaming, so working with them to reach their network of devoted fans was a natural fit for ITV.”
Michael Weber, COO of FITE TV said: “We pride ourselves in giving our subscribers access to the most exciting and uninterrupted content in combat sports and partnering with networks like ITV is a critical piece of doing that.
“ITV is one of the largest and most viewed networks in the world, and we’re excited to be their global partner to stream AEW’s Double or Nothing.”
