Virgin TV launches Asian TV app package

UK pay TV provider Virgin TV has launched an app package that gives viewers access to two Indian video-on-demand services, Eros Now and Voot.

Virgin TV customers can add the Desi App Pack to their service from this week and access the content, which is available in more than 10 languages, by going to channel 800 on their V6 box and pressing the red button on their remote.

Voot is home to original productions like It’s Not That Simple, hit shows such as Bigg Boss, and more than 400 movies. Eros Now offers a library of more than 11,000 films including original productions such as Operation Cobra and Enaaya.

Viewers who already pay for Virgin’s £12 per-month Asian Mela TV offering – which includes 11 Asian channels such as Star Plus and Zee TV – can add the Desi App Package for an additional £6 per-month. For all other customers, the Desi App Package will cost £12 per-month.

The addition of the Desi apps further strengthens our lead in the on demand viewing experience,” said David Bouchier, chief digital entertainment officer at Virgin Media.
