Virgin Media announces spring line-up for Virgin TV Ultra HD
Virgin Media has announced a line-up of 4K drama series, documentaries and concerts that will air this spring on its ultra high definition entertainment channel, Virgin TV Ultra HD.
Dramas due to appear between February and April include Netflix series The Get Down, Bloodline, and House of Cards, and Showtime’s Masters of Sex.
On the doc front, Virgin Media has partnered with Smithsonian Channel and will broadcast a selection of its factual programmes in UHD, including Aerial Cities: Miami and Americans Underground: Secret City of WW1.
Concert coverage includes jazz performances from the likes of New York-based band Snarky Puppy and a recital of Gioachino Rossini’s La Gazzetta opera.
“We’ve got an epic entertainment line-up on Virgin TV Ultra HD this spring with an array of fantastic programmes in incredible 4K ultra high definition,” said Virgin Media’s chief digital entertainment officer, David Bouchier.
“We’re offering the ultimate entertainment viewing experience – it really is the next best thing to being there.”
Virgin launched what it claimed was the UK’s first dedicated 4K ultra high definition entertainment channel in September 2018.
