LG to unveil latest AI-powered TVs at CES
LG Electronics is set to introduce its latest flagship TVs with ThinQ artificial intelligence technology and algorithmically-enhanced image quality at CES next week.
The new TVs will run LG’s second-generation Alpha 9 processor (α9 Gen 2) and will use a new algorithm to analyse source content and recognise ambient conditions in order to enhance picture and sound.
“The new processor finely adjusts the tone mapping curve in accordance with ambient conditions to offer optimised screen brightness, leveraging its ability to understand how the human eye perceives images in different lighting,” according to LG.
“The α9 Gen 2 AI can further refine HDR content by adjusting the brightness to transform even the darkest scenes into ones with incredible contrast, detail and depth of colour, even in brightly-lit rooms.”
LG’s 2019 TV range will also include Amazon Alexa, alongside Google Assistant voice support, and will have a home dashboard that makes it possible to control a variety of smart home devices from the TV.
LG’s Z9, W9, E9 and C9 series OLED TVs will include the α9 Gen 2 technology, while the 88-inch Z9 model also offer 8K picture quality via upscaling and noise reduction. For more information click here.
