Allview to launch Android smart TVs in Europe
Romanian consumer electronics manufacturer Allview has signed up with Google to launch its own brand of Android smart TVs and has staked a claim to be the first European brand to secure this.
The Brasov-based manufacturer said it would launch a range of smart TVs based on the Android TV platform in December. The TVs will include integrated Google Assistant.
According to Allview, its deal with Google puts its products in a club of only around 60 models globally that are certified by Google. The company said it aimed to be the European brand with the largest number of certified Google TVs in the market by next year.
“We are permanently seeking to offer advanced technology at affordable prices. Android smart TVs will change the perspective of users, giving them the content and apps they choose into menus specifically organised to be highly accessible. The users will get Netflix installed, certified, and available from the first second of running, alongside YouTube and Google Play Games,” said Lucian Peticila, general manager Allview.
Allview, which launched in 2004, distributes its products in Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, Hungary, The Netherlands, Moldavia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Lithuania, Slovenia, Latvia and Estonia.
