Dataxis: Global installed base of 4K set-top boxes reaches 31m

The global installed base of 4K set-top boxes reached 31 million units at the end of 2017, according to Dataxis.

The research firm said this compares to just three million units in 2015, as operators step up their deployments of ultra high definition devices.

Europe is growing at the fastest rate, accounting for 52% of the total 4K boxes in 2017, the report revealed.

Europe was followed by Asia-Pacific excluding China (32%), North and Latin America (5%), Middle-East (4%) and Africa (1%).
