Netgem teams up with Three for ‘disruptive’ offering
Technology company Netgem and mobile operator Three UK have teamed up to launch what they describe as a “customer-facing disruptive entertainment proposition” , exclusive for Three mobile customers and available via the operator’s Wuntu loyalty app.
Three customers will be extended an exclusive deal on Netgem’s NetBox HD, offering Freeview Play, Amazon Prime Video and other OTT service along with WiFi connectivity and Alexa integration.
Three customers can get NetBox HD for £19 only upfront and £5 a month for 6 months after.
According to Netgem, the deal marks the first time an operator will offer a TV service without hard bundling to their other services but rather in indirect distribution mode with Three.
Netgem said that the partnership with Three signaled its expansion in the UK market beyond its deployment with EE TV. The company says it has also struck deals with a number of fixed-line operators, mostly in the fibre-to-the-home space.
