Hopster debuts on US pay TV with Comcast
Kids OTT TV service Hopster has launched via the internet on US cable giant Comcast’s Xfinity X1 set-top, marking the first time the UK-based online subscription video on demand service is available from a pay TV provider in the US.
Xfinity customers and their families now have access to Hopster’s library of videos including premium preschool shows, educational entertainment, music videos and video books created to help kids discover areas such as creativity, managing emotions and understanding relationships, as well as more traditional learning topics like phonics and numeracy.
Xfinity X1 customers can subscribe to and access the service by saying “Hopster” into their X1 voice remote or by finding it within the networks section of Xfinity on Demand. Hopster can be added to X1 customers’ service for US$4.99 per month.
Nick Walters, CEO at Hopster, said: “We’re delighted to be announcing Comcast’s Xfinity as Hopster’s first major US distribution partner. We’re huge fans of Xfinity X1 and I’m sure X1 customers will love the addition of Hopster’s unique learning content to the platform.”
