Sky Deutschland taps Roku for launch of Sky Ticket Stick
Sky Deutschland has launched the Sky Ticket Stick, and HDMI dongle supplied by Sky’s long-term partner Roku as an alternative way of accessing OTT TV service Sky Ticket – the equivalent of Sky’s Now TV in the UK.
The contract-free Sky Ticket service includes access to popular apps such as those giving access to the media catalogues of public broadcasters ARD and ZDF as well as access to YouTube and Vimeo.
Sky Ticket is available for €29.99 a month, giving access to three entertainment packages including Sky originals and top series from HBO, Showtime, Fox or TNT.
Monthly Tickets from Sky also include two movie packages and a premium sports offering with top flight German and international football.
The Sky Ticket Stick can be used on any TV including those in hotel roomsl
Marcello Maggioni, chief commercial officer at Sky Deutschland said that the Sky Ticket TV Stick was an ideal product for those customers looking for “convenient, flexible and affordable access” to Sky’s services.
Anrew Ferrone, VP of pay TV at Roku, said that the stick was ideal for those who appreciated not having to install a set-top in their living room.
